Grayden's Birth Story

May 30, 2015  •  4 Comments

I knew instantly when I met Mark and Laura that they were going to be the most caring parents. It was evident in their love for each other and it poured out of them in such a way that I just couldn't help but smile. We clicked instantly and I couldn't think of a more perfect birth to be the first to shoot after our own loss {it was exactly what my soul needed}.

The text came that Laura was being induced and I was fighting the urge to rush to the hospital! Just ask grandma, she knows lol The induction process can be a long and painful one and it was almost two days until Laura was in active labor {what a trooper!} The room was overflowing with love and support. Both Grandmas traveled from Alabama to meet their very first grandson and they just couldn't hold in how excited they were. Everything seemed to be going smoothly and it was almost time to push! We were all on pins and needles around 9pm when the doctor said there would be a baby before the day ended! Sweet, strong Laura pushed for three long hours with her husband, mom, and mother-in-law by her side.

Baby Grayden was stuck and the medical team needed to get him out. Mark and Laura were so brave. Grandmas held them until it was time for surgery. We waited for the news and finally, he was here!!! Let me tell you, women are amazing! Laura was in the ICU recovering from some complications and just couldn't wait to get to the miracle she just gave birth to. Her body and her soul needed it. Mother and son bonded for nine months needed each other once again. All of the pain was temporary, and in the end, worth it. It was my honor to capture this miracle.

The slideshow was beautifully done and couldn't have done a more wonderful job of capturing the love, pain and emotion of two of the most beautiful people we have ever had the pleasure of having in our lives. They were the best neighbors anyone could ever ask for (even if they are Auburn fans)! We love and miss you Mark and Laura and hope to meet Prince Grayson soon! Beautiful family ❤️
